Chega de Saudade

Chega de Saudade is the longest and most complex piece in this library: one hundred and sixty-four chords, fourteen sections, twelve tonal centres. It's the tune that launched bossa nova, and it's still a test for anyone who plays it.

It moves from minor to major halfway through and back again, with seventy-nine dominants driving those shifts. Forty-six chords have more than one possible reading. This is not a tune you work out by ear in an afternoon.
